Martin started in meat processing, but it didn't take long before he found his true calling in jerky. In 1974, he and his wife Shirlee founded a small operation in LeRoy, Kansas. Over the next four decades, what began as a local meat shop grew into a destination — customers driving in from all over to stock up.
Martin retired and sold that business in 2012. After the passing of his beloved Shirlee, he found himself looking for a way to keep moving, keep building, keep doing what he loves. So in 2025, he started over.
LeRoy Jerky LLC is a family-owned company built on five decades of Martin's experience selecting cuts, refining recipes, and perfecting the smoking process. While the company is new, the commitment to quality and craftsmanship remains unchanged.
